This pretty much sums up most every summer for us, although the beach varies. This beach is Destin, Florida in 2010. And no, my white balance is not off, the water really is emerald green from the sea grass in June.
My how times have changed!
Grasp the moment. It’ll be gone before you know it!
your children have the most adorable smiles, and that water color is amazing!
Thank you Terry! That was the summer I learned why it’s called the Emerald Coast. Those pictures actually don’t do it justice. I have a couple where it really it is the color of an emerald. Not much fun to swim in IMHO, because the grass is so thick. But they rake it up every day off the beach. I guess it feeds the fish…LOL.
it is just beautiful. would love to see the other photo showing off its beautiful emeralds
I’ll post one tomorrow!
great!!
Those are such great photos and your boys are real cuties!! I wish I was at the beach today – it’s going to be 30C here today. 🙂
Me too! It’s been 90 degrees F here!
Your boys have your smile-cute boys !
Thanks Jenny!
I’ll second what commenter Terry said before me: adorable! Fabulous photos. 🙂
Thanks Gina! Stay tuned for Emerald water tomorrow!
Oh wow what a great juxtaposition of photos! Your earlier ones don’t even look dated at all, so it’s crazy to think that those guys are the same ones 🙂
I know– it’s so weird. I just don’t know when it happened! Thanks for the compliment!
oh fun! What happy faces. 🙂
Thanks! They LOVE the beach–any beach!
They’re still cuties!
Thanks Jules!
I’ve been cleaning out various nooks and crannies, trying to cull the growing piles of stuph we’ve got… I found a couple of decks of photos I took back in the day (1972) of some of my high school classmates and I traveling from Baltimore to Ocean City, Maryland for a week’s stay at a rented house.
They were black and white, many of them out of focus, and I almost remember much of it. (Those were the days I majored in the consumption of alcoholic beverages… oh, well.)
Hehe! When I cleaned out my dads garage I found photos of summer pool fun from when I was in Jr. High (mid 70’s)! I couldn’t believe what I was looking at…many not in focus, but they were color :-).
Back in the day, black and white was a deliberate choice… both cheaper and easier to find.
Not so now, of course…
Well now all you have to do is click on Black and white, and voila! 🙂
Looks like great summer fun! 🙂
We generally do have a great time!
Oh, wow…and more wows! First , it is really beautiful to see your kids grow…the smiles of your little boys simply shows a generous happiness that we all see in our kids as well as what we felt when we were about that age. Then there’s Destin. I hope to bring my son there this Summer. It’s suppose to be 6-7 hours from Houston. I wish to get happy and cool photos like these if I do get to go. Have a wonderful Summer. Best wishes to your family.
Thank you so much! I hope you make it to Destin. It is a really great get away. There are so many great rentals on the beach, too. Just posted a few more photos of the green water! Hope you get a chance to see them.
Beautiful summer photos Arnel! Know what you mean…they grow way too fast 😦
Thanks Madhu! They really do! I’m already sad that in two years Bugs will be gone to college. 😦 Although I do find myself wondering what it will be like to be in a house that stays clean… 🙂
Looks like they thoroughly enjoyed this time in the water!
They did–they weren’t deterred by it at all. Me on the other hand, not so much…
