Egg Cooking Toasters

A couple of weeks ago our toaster died. A SAMs club special, it lasted for about eight years, which isn’t bad. Bugs reported that blue smoke rolled from the bottom, and when I tried to touch it, it was emanating so much heat I though it was going to explode.

So I got on line and googled toaster to see what was out there. The first review of a toaster I read said, “Great toaster, but doesn’t cook eggs.” I thought they were kidding. I laughed, and read it out loud to my husband, who also laughed.

As it happens, there ARE toasters that cook eggs. Who knew? I started looking at them and began to hatch a wonderful plan.

The boys all love those breakfast sandwiches–you know- the kind from Jimmy Dean. But feeding three teen boys breakfast sandwiches could make a girl go broke. What if, THEY MADE THEIR OWN???? Before I knew it I was ordering the Westbend toaster/egg cooker.

I have to admit, it’s pretty handy. And even better, I got it at Walmart for a bargain price.

The boys? All three LOVE IT, and claim they never want any other kind of breakfast sandwich again. Mission accomplished.

what a clever trinket! I have never seen one of these!! anything that does more than one thing is A-OK in my book!

    • Well that makes me feel better! I thought maybe I was alone in not knowing such a thing existed! And while they sometimes would just cook and egg in the skillet, that was such a bigger mess than this. Plus, no fire is involved!

  3. Still laughing. 😀

How clever. It would be great in a dorm room.

  5. You mean there really is such a thing? How amazing. If I had the space for one I might consider it because that’s what I like for breakfast, too.
Thanks for stopping by my new blog and leaving a comment.

  6. I for one never knew about such a toaster….amazing…Diane

What a great find. Was your “hatch a plan” an intended, or unintended pun? 😀

I’ve never heard of such a thing … I’m so far behind 😦 … cuts down on messes, boys do it themselves (?), Mum doesn’t have to … sounds like a GREAT invention. Just, who knew?
