Today was a very busy day. I had the 10 year old daughter of a friend over in the afternoon, who made me chocolate bouchons, and played crazy eights with me and the twins.
It was interesting and refreshing to have another female in the house, and I found myself imagining the fun it would have been to have a daughter to balance the boys. She was great fun, holding her own with the card games, and telling the boys to stay out of the chocolate chips. I was also amused to hear her say, “They argue a lot.”
After we made two batches of chocolate goodies, we played cards, during which time a reasonable amount of cheating ensued. We had great fun riding each other over the cards we played, colluding against the boys over which suits to put down.
We then left to see Narnia, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which my kids refused to see. What a great movie! We both enjoyed the special effects and the story while munching a bucket of popcorn. What a refreshingly different day! Thank you to the little girl who brought some balance to the AllThingsBoys house. It was a great day!
